long drives in gta 6 are basically going to be road trips you didn't plan
I keep thinking about how different long distance driving is going to feel in 6. In 5 you could zone out on the highway because there wasn't much pulling at you. A few random events here and there, but mostly it was just you and the road. That had its own vibe honestly.
RDR2 changed the formula for me. You'd set off toward a mission marker and an hour later you're skinning a deer, helping some stranger, or getting chased by bounty hunters. The trip stopped being a loading screen between content and became the content.
Now take that and apply it to a map that's supposedly close to double the size of 5's, with way more density. Driving from one end of Leonida to the other in one shot sounds like it's going to be genuinely hard. The hard part won't be the distance. Every exit ramp and dirt road is going to have something.
I already know how my sessions are going to go. I'll pull over for what I tell myself is a quick break, then the lighting hits some swamp or neon strip and I'm gone. Twenty minutes later I've wandered into some random event and completely forgotten where I was headed.
And the bike idea. Once I've seen the main stuff, I want to just grab a bicycle and drift through every corner of the map with zero destination. No waypoint, no goal. Just see what's out there.
Long drives in 6 are going to be accidental road trips. I'm not mad about it.
