pc gamer says piggybacks in gta 5 fix male loneliness, i'm losing it
Saw this PC Gamer piece and had to share. The whole thing is basically two sentences: reach out to your fellow human beings, and give them piggybacks. That's it. That's the solution to the male loneliness epidemic, apparently, and it's set in GTA 5 of all places.
I don't know if this is a mod, some weird online interaction, or just a joke article, but the mental image is killing me. You're cruising around Los Santos, feeling a bit down, and instead of robbing a store or starting a police chase, you just walk up to some random dude and offer him a lift on your back. Boom, connection made. Loneliness solved.
PC Gamer is usually pretty straight laced, so seeing them publish something this goofy is refreshing. It's the kind of thing that makes me remember why I love this community. We'll spend hours arguing about frame rates and map sizes, but then someone comes along with a piggyback theory and suddenly everything's fine.
I've never actually tried giving a piggyback in GTA 5. I'm not even sure the game lets you do it outside of some specific context. But now I kind of want to boot it up and see. If it's a real thing, I've been missing out. If it's not, then PC Gamer just wrote a whole article about a fever dream and I respect that even more.
Anyway, if GTA 6 doesn't have piggybacks I'm going to be genuinely disappointed. Rockstar, you've got two protagonists now. Let Jason carry Lucia around Vice City. Let Lucia carry Jason. Let me carry a random NPC through the Leonida Keys. That's the kind of feature that wins game of the year.

Piggybacks are just two-man entry tactics. If Lucia can shoot over Jason's shoulder while he's sprinting, I'm calling that a valid loadout.
I play singleplayer to get away from my kids. Last thing I need is Jason adding to my load.
