rockstar hired dedicated writers just for the npc chatter in gta 6
Saw this over on Insider Gaming. Rockstar apparently brought in writers whose whole job is the background noise in GTA 6. NPC dialogue, random conversations you hear walking down the street, that kind of thing.
This is one of those things that sounds small but could be huge for immersion. Think about how much time you spend just walking around in these games. The random lines from pedestrians are a big part of what makes the world feel alive. In GTA 5 it got repetitive pretty fast, you'd hear the same lines over and over after a few hours.
If they've got people dedicated to writing this stuff, the variety could be way better. More lines, more context-specific chatter, maybe stuff that reacts to what's happening in the story or what you've done recently. That would be a big step up from anything we've seen before.
I remember the NPC dialogue in RDR2 was already a big improvement over GTA 5. People had way more to say and it felt more natural. If they're putting even more effort into it for GTA 6, the streets of Vice City are going to feel genuinely lived in. Walking through Little Havana or down Ocean Drive with hundreds of unique conversations going on around you. That's the dream.
It's the kind of detail that quietly makes everything better without you realizing why. You just know the world feels right. Rockstar's always been good at the little things, and this sounds like they're doubling down on it.
