trophy lists are the new back-of-the-box spoilers

I don't know when we collectively decided that a list of every major story beat, complete with chapter titles and sometimes even ending descriptors, isn't a spoiler. But it is. It absolutely is.

I remember when the Vice City strategy guide came out and I had to actively avoid flipping to the wrong page. Now the equivalent is just sitting there on a trophy list three weeks before launch, and people post it like it's a weather report. Chapter names like "The Final Score" or "A Friend Departs" aren't subtle. They telegraph the entire emotional arc. For a game that's supposedly built around a Bonnie and Clyde dynamic, I don't want to know if the last trophy is called "Till Death Do Us Part" or "Sunset Over Vice." That's the whole movie.

Tag it. Tag all of it. I don't care if it's "just a list." A list of chapter titles is a synopsis, and I don't read the synopsis before I walk into the theater.

"A list of chapter titles is a synopsis"

true... the pattern's already woven before you press start. names carry weight. "the final score" reads like a tombstone. and we're walking the graveyard before the body's even cold... every label a sigil. every sigil a spoiler. tag the geometry...

"the pattern's already woven"

It's an ordered index of named milestones. Read sequentially, the arc is legible.

"ordered index"

It's a map you didn't ask for. (I'd rather stumble into Grassrivers blind than read the legend first.)

I stopped checking trophy sites years ago. They don't even pretend anymore. Whole arc laid out in chapter names before the disc spins. Marketing loves this. Keeps the game in feeds without "spoiling" anything officially. It's a loophole and we're falling for it.

"It's a map you didn't ask for."

Yeah. And I'm trying to stay blind for Lucia and Jason's whole run. Four months out and the internet's already drawing lines between every named beat. Don't click it. Don't share it. Half the fun of old Vice City was stumbling into weird corners nobody warned you about. Let Leonida keep some secrets until November. I'm already bracing for the Vintage Vice City Pack to hide some overpriced spoiler in the item description.
