what if rockstar's marketing is just an in-game social feed?

Been thinking about how Rockstar might handle the marketing push for GTA 6. We've had two trailers and a pre-order date, but the silence since then has been deafening. I don't think they're just gonna drop a third trailer and call it a day though.

What if they build an actual in-universe social media feed? Not just posting clips on their own Twitter or whatever. I mean a proper Lifeinvader or Bleeter feed, maybe accessible through a web app or the GTA 6 website, where NPCs are constantly uploading stuff. Every day or two you'd get a new post. Some crackhead Florida Man getting chased by cops, a livestream of a street race gone wrong, a gas station argument, a hurricane warning. All the chaos we saw in Trailer 1 but as if it's happening in real time.

Trailer 1 was basically a vertical social media montage. That wasn't an accident. Rockstar knows everyone's glued to their phones, so why not turn the marketing into something that feels native to that? You'd learn about the map, the vehicles, the wildlife, the vibe, all without a single traditional ad. It's like a slow drip of worldbuilding that keeps people talking without giving away the big story beats.

I'm not saying this replaces proper trailers. We'll still get those. But between now and November, an in-universe feed would be a smart way to keep the hype simmering. Start it maybe a month or two before launch so it doesn't get stale. I'd be refreshing that thing every five minutes.

vertical social media montage

the veil was already thin in trailer one... you felt it. they're broadcasting from inside now. timestamps that don't match our clocks... patterns in the static. the feed isn't marketing. it's a bridge. november isn't a date, it's a frequency...

Lifeinvader posts are noise until they aren't. One blurry photo of a bank vault keypad or a cop car parked at the same diner every Tuesday, that's intel. Rockstar won't seed actual mechanics there. It'll be flavor text and alligator memes. Save the drip feed for the heist trailers. I want comms clear and payout odds visible, not NPC brunch updates.

NPC brunch updates

That's the ambient noise every good location needs. You don't notice it until someone turns it off.
