What do you think of the GTA 6 reveal?

PC Gamer put up a short piece just asking what we thought of the GTA 6 reveal, specifically the Netflix preview. They're framing it as either everything you ever wanted or a total dud. No middle ground apparently.

I watched the Netflix stream live and honestly it was fine. The 26 minutes of footage on YouTube later was the real deal, but the Netflix thing felt like a weird flex. Rockstar loves doing stuff like that though, making you jump through hoops. I don't think it was a dud at all. The extended look gave us way more than I expected, especially the map scale and the NPC stuff. But was it everything I ever wanted? Nah, I wanted a PC announcement and we still don't have one. So it's somewhere in between.

The comments on that PC Gamer piece are probably a mess already. Half the people saying Rockstar is washed, the other half saying it's the greatest thing ever. Typical. I'm just glad we finally got a proper look at the game after all the silence. The Netflix first thing was annoying but whatever, it's over now.

I think the real question is whether the extended look changed anyone's mind who was on the fence. For me it confirmed the game is going to be massive and detailed, but I'm still not pre-ordering until I see more of the story. The Lucia and Jason dynamic looks interesting but I need to see how the choices actually play out. The criminal profile system sounds like it could be great or could be a gimmick.

Anyway, PC Gamer asking for hot takes is nothing new. They'll probably turn the best comments into another article next week. My take: not a dud, not everything, just a solid step in the right direction.
