free roaming with both jason and lucia is the part i keep thinking about
I keep coming back to the idea of just driving around Leonida with both Jason and Lucia in the car. The trailers already show them together a lot, but the thought of that carrying over into free roam is what's got me hyped.
I'm really curious how Lucia reacts when I do dumb stuff like steal a boat or crash into a gas station. Does she comment? Does she get annoyed? That kind of little feedback loop would make the world feel way more alive than just having a silent second character standing there.
The Last of Us did this really well even though it was linear. Ellie would react to stuff and it made the whole journey feel shared. If Rockstar pulls that off in an open world with two playable leads, that's a huge deal.
I'm already imagining taking a boat out to the Keys, diving off the side, and seeing if Jason follows or just waits. Or just coasting down a highway at sunset with both of them in the car and some radio station playing. The companion thing opens up a whole different layer of exploration that solo free roam never had.
I'll probably switch between solo and duo depending on what I'm doing. Some days I want to explore alone and not have anyone comment on my driving. Other days I want the full buddy road trip vibe. Either way, having the option is what matters. If the companion AI is even half as reactive as it was in RDR2 with your horse and gang members, this is going to be the feature I sink the most hours into.
