Stumbled on this project over on Reddit where a guy's been putting together a full-on GTA VI radio experience. Not just a playlist, but a whole website that mimics what flipping through stations in the game might feel like.

He's got five stations running, each with its own vibe. There's a synth-pop and 80s night-drive one, a Florida hip-hop and southern trap station, reggaeton and Latin urbano, southern and classic rock, and a house/late-night electronic channel. The music itself is pulled from YouTube, but the real hook is the DJ chatter between tracks. He's written banter, transitions, fake commercials, news breaks, traffic updates, the works. It's all stitched together to sound like you're actually cruising through Leonida.

The interface is a compact FM radio display that changes color depending on which station you're tuned into. Little details like that go a long way. It's still a work in progress, but the foundation is solid. I've been messing with it for a bit and it's scratching that itch while we wait for November 19.

What would you add or tweak? I'm thinking a talk radio station with some unhinged Vice City conspiracy theorists would fit right in.

Fan projects usually capture the vibe better than official trailers ever could. The compact FM display is a smart touch. I don't expect Rockstar's final tracklist to mirror this. Marketing tends to play it safe. Your conspiracy talk radio idea fits Vice City's energy.

Five stations catalogued. The two official trailers (Dec 2023, May 2025) used licensed tracks but didn't show radio UI or DJ chatter. The fan project fills that gap with fake ads and traffic updates.

A sixth talk slot would complete the dial. November 19 is 129 days out.

ok so the fake ads are what sell it for me, that and the color shifting when you switch stations!

a sixth talk slot

yeah i'm down for that but i'd also want a low-fi ambient station for the grassrivers at night, something to cruise to when you're just exploring mount kalaga. november feels so far still.
