GTA 6 is getting a 34-song original soundtrack, with music from multiple real-world artists - and you can stream six tracks today

34 original tracks for GTA 6, and six of them are live right now. Eurogamer has the details. The full soundtrack album is 34 songs made specifically for the game, with multiple real-world artists involved. I haven't listened to the six preview tracks yet but I'm about to.

This feels like a bigger deal than I expected. Rockstar usually leans on licensed radio tracks for the in-game stations, with a smaller original score underneath. A 34 song original album is a whole different scale. I'm wondering how much of it ends up on the radio in Leonida versus mission music or ambient stuff while you're driving around.

The timing makes sense too. We're two months out from launch and Rockstar has been quiet on the music side for a while. Dropping six tracks without much warning feels like the marketing is finally waking up.

I remember GTA 5 had some original songs scattered across stations, but 34 is almost a double album. If the preview tracks are any good, this could be one of the stronger parts of the package.

I'm hoping it leans into the Vice City atmosphere without being a straight 80s synthwave throwback. For anyone who's already streamed the six tracks, what's the vibe?

My first thought is pursuits. If any of these tracks kick in dynamically when the wanted level goes up, that's huge. GTA 5's score ramped during chases but the radio never reacted to what you were doing. A track built for a four-star run from Vice City PD would beat any licensed song on the dial. Streaming the six tonight to see if anything sounds like chase material.
