Read a GamesRadar piece today where some industry expert was talking about GTA 6 going up against that Zelda Ocarina of Time remake. His take was that Nintendo is the only company in the industry with a fanbase loyal enough to even make that bet against Rockstar. Then he said the reaction from fans already tells you how this ends.

I get where he's coming from. Nintendo fans are a different breed. They'll buy a remake of a 30 year old game day one, no questions asked. The Ocarina of Time remake is going to sell absurd numbers just because it's Zelda. But going up against GTA 6? That's a whole other level. Rockstar has been quiet for over a decade and the hype for this game is unreal. Pre-orders alone probably broke records the day they opened.

But here's the thing. The expert said Nintendo is the only one who could try, not that they'd win. And the fan reaction part, I'm guessing he means GTA fans are already dismissing the competition. Which is fair. I'm a GTA fan through and through, and I'm not buying a Zelda remake on launch day if it means splitting my time. But I also know people who would absolutely choose Zelda over GTA 6, and they're just as passionate.
