miami dade sheriff clarifies she was never anti vice city, just anti public buildings in gta promos

PC Gamer has a short piece on this and the whole thing is funnier than it sounds. Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz called GTA a videogame franchise built around criminal activity, which is fair, but now she's saying she was never actually mad about the NBA leaning into the Vice City aesthetic. Her problem was specifically with publicly owned facilities and infrastructure getting used for a GTA 6 promotional collaboration.
So the Heat can wear Vice colors all they want, apparently. But if Rockstar wanted to put a mural on a county building or use a public lot for some kind of stunt, that's where she drew the line. I kind of get it. You don't want taxpayer funded property tied to a game about stealing cars and shooting people, even if it's all fictional.
Still funny that she felt the need to clarify after the NBA thing blew up. People probably assumed she was anti Vice City in general, like some politician doing the usual moral panic routine. Turns out she just doesn't want Jason and Lucia's faces on a sheriff substation. Honestly that's a way more reasonable position than most of the noise we've heard about this game.
