If the extended look has gameplay, it'll be the earliest pre-release gameplay Rockstar's shown since RDR1

I was just looking at the dates and it's kind of funny. If Rockstar actually shows gameplay during the extended look on August 27th, that's 84 days before the November 19th release. For GTA V, the first gameplay trailer hit on July 9th, 2013, which was only 70 days before launch. RDR2's gameplay reveal was August 9th, 2018, 78 days before that game dropped.

So we're actually getting a longer runway this time. I remember the absolute drought before the GTA V gameplay trailer. People were refreshing YouTube every five minutes, dissecting screenshots, the whole thing. Same with RDR2. Now we're all doing it again, but the numbers say Rockstar is showing us stuff earlier than they did for those games.

I think the wait just feels worse because the gap between trailer 1 and trailer 2 was so massive. December 2023 to May 2025. That's a year and a half of nothing but a logo and some palm trees. So by the time trailer 2 dropped, everyone was already starving. Now we're three months from launch and the extended look is right around the corner. It's not that bad.

Still, I'm not expecting a full gameplay blowout. Rockstar likes to tease. Probably a mix of cutscenes and a few controlled gameplay shots. But even that would be more than we got at this stage for V or RDR2. Funny how perspective works.
