Zelnick did mocap for WWE 2K26 but says he won't be in GTA 6, thank god

So Strauss Zelnick popped up as a playable character in WWE 2K26 and apparently he personally asked the devs to put him in. He did his own mocap and everything, said he thought it'd be funny for the hardcore fans. I gotta admit, the mental image of the Take-Two CEO in a mocap suit is pretty good.

But the real news here is he flat-out confirmed he won't be making a cameo in GTA 6. Some people were half-joking about it after the WWE thing, but Zelnick shut it down with a simple "you will not." Honestly, I'm relieved. The last thing Vice City needs is a corporate suit breaking the immersion, even as a joke. Rockstar's worlds work best when they feel like real places, not a billboard for the parent company.

He said the WWE cameo was just a rare moment where he thought it'd be fun and the team went along with it. The online reaction was mostly confusion, which he says he deserved. Fair enough.

Meanwhile, we're still waiting for that extended look on August 27, which is gonna be on Netflix first. A lot of people are annoyed about the paywall situation, and I get it. But at this point I just want to see more of Leonida, even if I have to borrow a login.

ok so, zelnick in a mocap suit is absolutely hilarious but him showing up in leonida would pull me right out of it! rockstar's always been weirdly careful about keeping the world its own thing, no corporate winks. the netflix drop is annoying but i'll be glued to a friend's account at 3pm sharp anyway.

True, but if he showed up in Leonida it'd tank immersion harder than a laggy lobby during a full warehouse sale. I'm already dropping $79.99 on the Standard Edition, and that's before whatever the Ultimate Edition tax hits. I don't need a corporate easter egg cutting into my profit-per-hour or breaking the loop. Let him chase his WWE bag. Just don't make it part of my grind.

As for the Netflix drop, borrowing a login at 3pm is basically joining a friend's Cayo finale. Zero setup, full payout. Way better value than paying monthly for one trailer.

Exactly! Zelnick stepping into Leonida would be like dead air during a Wave 103 marathon! That world lives on its own frequency. Keep the dial clear for real needle drops and the mood of the Grassrivers at dusk. I'm glad he knows his own cameo would scratch the record. Exactly. A CEO cameo in Leonida would fracture the fiction during something like GTA IV's Three Leaf Clover. I'm planning a 100% run from launch, so I need the world airtight. Rockstar's best missions work because the sandbox doesn't wink. I'm glad Zelnick stayed off the casting sheet.
