Rockstar's launch screenshot drop is 39 images and I'm still going through them

So Rockstar put out a full batch of launch screenshots for GTA 6, and GTA Series Videos went through and posted all 39 of them in 4K, one at a time. If you've got twenty minutes and a decent monitor, that's your evening sorted.

The video's chaptered, which I appreciate. It opens on Jason and Lucia together, then breaks out solo shots of each of them, then a big chunk of Vice City, and finally a section labeled "Beyond the City." That last part is the one I keep rewinding. We've seen enough neon and beachfront at this point. Seeing what's out past the skyline is where the actual world-building lives.

what the chapters tell you

  • Jason and Lucia sharing frame, which is the pairing the whole thing hangs on
  • Individual portraits of Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos
  • A long Vice City stretch, roughly a minute and a half of it
  • "Beyond the City," which is the part I'd queue up first

Nothing in the description gets into new mechanics or features, so don't go in expecting a breakdown of anything gameplay related. These are stills. Marketing stills, at that. But Rockstar's marketing stills have a habit of hiding a lot in the background, and at 4K you can actually zoom in and squint at shop signs and license plates like a lunatic. I've already caught myself doing it twice.

Reminder on the basics since the comments always fill up with it: GTA 6 lands November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. No PC version announced. Pre-orders have been live since June 25, Standard at $79.99 and Ultimate at $99.99, with the Vintage Vice City Pack thrown in for pre-ordering.

the Leonida thing

Worth keeping in mind that Vice City is one piece of a bigger state here. Leonida also covers the Keys, Grassrivers, Mount Kalaga, Port Gellhorn and Ambrosia. So a screenshot dump that spends a full section on Vice City and then another on what's beyond it is basically Rockstar saying look at the whole map, not just the postcard part.

I'm not going to pretend 39 stills are the same as footage. They aren't. But we're close enough now that a gallery drop like this hits different than it would've two years ago. It's the last stretch of looking at pictures before we're actually driving around in it.
