rockstar calls gta 6 online a closely guarded secret and the 32 player thing is still vague

So Rockstar finally said something about GTA 6 Online and it's basically "we're not telling you anything." The quote floating around is that details about the online mode are one of their most closely guarded secrets. Which, yeah, no surprise there.
The Dexerto headline mentions 32-player details emerging, but the actual article is thin. Just that one line about it being a secret. Classic. They dangle the 32-player number in the title and then give us nothing to chew on.
I get why they're quiet. GTA Online is still printing money and they don't want to cannibalize it before November. But at some point they have to show what the next online looks like. We're two months out from launch and we know more about Lucia's hair physics than we do about whether GTA 6 Online even has a separate map or just reuses Leonida.
If the 32-player thing is real, that's not a huge jump from what we have now, depending on platform. I don't remember the exact cap but it's around 30 on console. So 32 would be a tiny bump. Unless they're reworking how sessions work entirely, with more density and events. Hard to say without actual info.
Rockstar's been weirdly protective of online details. The extended look in August was all single player. No mention of GTA+ carrying over, no word on character transfers, nothing. I'm not expecting a full online reveal until after launch at this rate. Maybe they'll do a separate trailer in October or early November. Or maybe they'll just let it drop on day one and let us figure it out.
Either way, calling it a "closely guarded secret" is just PR speak for "we haven't finished it yet." I'd rather they take their time than rush out a broken online mode like they did with GTA Online back in 2013. That launch was a mess for weeks.
Still, a little transparency wouldn't hurt. Even a screenshot of the online menu would be something.

Fair point on 2013. I remember spending that whole first week staring at a loading screen and getting booted. I'd take a slower rollout over that mess again.
Doesn't change much for me either way. With the time I get after the kids are in bed, I'll be in story mode until spring. The online crowd can test it for me.
