GTA+ October benefits are out, still feels weird paying for this with GTA 6 weeks away

GTA Series Videos posted their usual monthly breakdown of GTA+ perks for October. The window runs from October 8 through November 4. I know we're all staring at the calendar waiting for November 19, but GTA Online keeps chugging along with these membership refreshes.

I'm not gonna pretend I remember every bonus they listed. It's the standard mix of free cars, cash drops, discounts on properties, maybe some exclusive clothing. The video is pretty neutral, just showing what you get. They even say they're not trying to push anyone into buying it, which I appreciate because most GTA+ content on YouTube is either "this is a scam" or "why aren't you subscribed yet".

What did catch my eye is that GTA+ is still only on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC Enhanced. No last gen, no Switch, nothing else. Makes sense given the game's age, but it's a reminder that Rockstar is slowly leaving the old consoles behind. I've been a member on and off since it launched. The free $500k every month was nice when I was grinding for the Kosatka, but now I'm just sitting on a pile of cash with nothing to spend it on.

With GTA 6 less than six weeks out, I keep wondering if Rockstar will fold GTA+ into the new game somehow. Like, will my current membership carry over? Probably not. They'll likely relaunch it or rebrand it for GTA 6's online mode whenever that drops. But for now, paying $6 a month for GTA Online perks feels like putting quarters into an arcade machine that's about to be unplugged.

I'll probably let my subscription lapse after this cycle. The Ultimate Edition pre-order already hurt my wallet enough.
