GTA 6 Online Could Be Released In Early 2027, Bank Says

Bank of America put out a note this week telling investors to go long on Take-Two through the GTA 6 launch. Stock's been rough, down 21% this year and it slipped under $200 after hitting $265 at its peak. Their price target is $330 now, down from $380 before, but they still see more than 60% upside.

Main reason they're bullish is GTA Online 2.0, or whatever Rockstar ends up calling it. They think investors aren't pricing in how huge the next online mode could be. BofA says it could drop in the first calendar quarter of 2027, so January through March. That's not too far off from when a PC version of GTA 6 is expected to show up, which would stack even more revenue on top.

Rockstar has been calling GTA 6 a single player game so far, but nobody actually believes online won't come eventually. GTA Online for GTA 5 is still printing money from shark cards and all that. A fresh version for Leonida with more reasons to spend time and money would be an absolute cash machine.

For reference, GTA 5 and RDR2 both launched without online support at first. Rockstar waited a bit before flipping the switch. So this timeline matches their old playbook pretty well.

The memo says the stock "remains cheap" and recommends being long through launch. I'm not a finance guy, but the logic tracks. Base game lands November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Everyone plays the story, then a few months later online shows up and the microtransaction cycle starts again. Same as it ever was.

Also the file size for the base game is apparently massive, which I'm choosing to ignore until I have to clear my drive.
