rdr2 ammo types could explain why cars flip after tire shots

That tire flip clip from the extended look has been bugging me too. Some people think it looks goofy, some think it's a physics flex, but I keep coming back to how Red Dead Redemption 2 handled ammo and wondering if Rockstar just carried that idea over to Leonida.

In RDR2 you had regular rounds, high velocity, express, and a few others. They all did slightly different things to bodies and cover. What if GTA 6 does the same thing with vehicle damage? Like, normal pistol rounds just deflate the tire and the car limps along. But armor piercing rounds hit the rim or the hub and that's what sends the whole thing tumbling. That would explain why the flip looked so violent in the extended look, it wasn't just a flat tire, it was the wheel assembly getting wrecked.

That would also give you a reason to actually think about your loadout before a chase. Do you want to slow a car down without killing the driver, or do you want to end the pursuit right there and risk flipping it into a crowd? RDR2 already made ammo choice feel meaningful for hunting and gunfights, so it's not a stretch to imagine Rockstar doing the same for car combat.

I know some people are worried tire shots will make police chases too easy, but if the ammo system is in there, it might balance itself out. You'd have to buy or craft the good stuff, and regular rounds wouldn't do much beyond making the cops swerve a little. That feels like a Rockstar solution to me, give you the tool but make you pay for the fun version.

I'd be down for it. Anything that makes me actually open the weapon wheel and think instead of just spamming the same pistol for 40 hours is a win.
