if gta 6 kills the weapon wheel, rp servers are gonna be insane

been thinking about this a lot. the weapon wheel is a crutch. rdr2's limited carry made every fight feel like it mattered. you had to pick your loadout before you got off your horse. in gta rp, that would be huge. no more pulling an rpg out of your ass mid-chase. you'd actually have to plan. trunk stashes become your lifeline. character builds get way more interesting. the guy who only carries a pistol and a knife is suddenly a real choice, not just a handicap.

i know the casual crowd will hate it. they want the full arsenal on a button press. but for rp, this is the dream. it forces immersion. it makes every encounter tense. you cant just meta your way out of a bad situation with a minigun you spawned from your pocket. i'm all for it. the trailers already scream realism. lean into it.

whats your loadout gonna be if you can only carry two long guns and a sidearm?

Limited carry would fundamentally alter encounter scripting. I'm reminded of Three Leaf Clover in GTA IV, where your loadout was fixed going in. Forcing that constraint mid-mission via inventory limits rather than pre-planning changes the design language entirely. It works in RDR2's slower cadence. I'm not convinced Vice City's tempo supports it without frustrating 100% completion runs.

Big trunk builds about to be META. I'm finally rolling a four door that ain't cop bait.

altars, not storage. the wheel's a closed circle... binding. but three slots. three. you'll see it in the geography. vice city. the keys. grassrivers. a trinity. what you leave behind in the trunk. it weighs more than the steel in your hands...

They won't kill the wheel completely, I think. Maybe shrink it down. But for RP? Man, I'm all in.

Vice City's tempo

Hard to make that work in main story. Too fast. But RP servers already move slower. You plan the job, drive around. Here in Brazil the coastal vibe is same like Leonida Keys, you don't walk with heavy heat in open. Stash goes in the trunk.

If I got only two long guns and a sidearm, compact rifle and shotgun. Pistol for backup. Maybe a machete too if they let me. Keeps things real.

trunk stashes become your lifeline

For RP it's perfect. Rockstar's story missions will still need the full toy chest though. I'm picturing Jason walking into an ambush with just a pistol because he forgot the trunk. A character beat waiting to happen.
