Xbox prices just went up again, PS5 staying put. GTA 6 might be a PlayStation party this fall.

So I saw this on Push Square earlier. Microsoft bumped Xbox Series X|S prices again over the weekend. Meanwhile Sony's financial report from last month basically said PS5 prices are holding until at least April 2027 because they already locked in their memory inventory.
For GTA 6 that's a pretty big deal. The game hits November 19, 2026. If you're still deciding which console to grab, the PS5 is gonna look way more appealing when the Xbox keeps getting more expensive every few months. We're already shelling out $80 for the standard edition, nobody wants to pay extra just for the box it runs on.
I'm not trying to start a console war, but this feels like Microsoft handing Sony a free win right before the biggest launch of the decade. Casual players who just want to play GTA 6 are gonna walk into a store, see the price tags, and the choice makes itself. Even for people who already own both, the PS5 version might end up being the default just because that's where their friends are migrating.
Curious what you all think. Is this actually gonna shift sales, or are most people already locked into their ecosystem? Anyone here planning to switch consoles because of the price gap?

Console price wars are a distraction. You're paying eighty dollars for the standard edition no matter which box you pick. Microsoft is just making the decision easier for casual buyers who were already leaning toward PlayStation. Sony didn't earn this. They just waited.
Two platforms, one $79.99 standard edition (Rockstar). A hardware bump doesn't change the price of the November 19 release.
Sony didn't earn this.
Doesn't matter. A pricier console just means a longer grind to break even on your $79.99 standard edition.
rp servers live or die by player density. if casuals all land on ps5, serious rp communities are gonna consolidate there too.
