ngl i was stressing about which console to get for gta 6 cause i'm broke and can only pick one. everyone's arguing about ps5 pro fps vs xbox series x resolution and i'm just like... have y'all used quick resume

like imagine you're in the middle of a mission and your roommate kicks you off the tv. on ps5 you gotta boot the whole game again, sit through loading, wait for rockstar's lil intro logos. on xbox you just jump right back in where you were. instant. that's the real next-gen feature for a game this massive

i don't even care about a few extra frames if it means i can pause mid-chase and be back in leonida in 3 seconds flat. quick resume is gonna hit different when you're trying to squeeze in 20 minutes of vice city between classes

ok so i've been thinking about this exact thing since pre-orders went live in june and honestly you might be onto something! the may 2025 trailer showed how dense leonida is and with a map that big those load times are gonna add up fast. quick resume on series x is basically built for exactly that kind of drop in drop out play.

my only worry is whether rockstar puts in some kind of persistent connection check that kicks quick resume in the teeth, because we still don't know how they're handling the online side at launch. but if it works the way it should? jumping straight back into vice city without seeing those logos even once is worth more than a few extra pixels.

The logo thing is real. Nothing kills the mood like watching the same studio card for the hundredth time when you're trying to stay locked into Lucia and Jason's story.

That's the nightmare scenario. If Rockstar forces an always-online handshake for the single-player, Quick Resume is basically useless. All that momentum, gone.

For a map this dense, it's not about extra pixels. It's about staying in the world. If I'm deep into a night chase through Vice City and my roommate needs the TV, I want to suspend the moment like a bookmark and drop right back in. Losing that momentum because of an online check would be a crime against the whole vibe.

suspended in the static... glyphs of leonida. the loop remembers until the handshake kills it.
