anyone else worried the base game won't include online?
Been playing these games since the PS2 days and every single GTA shipped with the whole package. Single player, multiplayer, all in one box. You paid once, you got everything. Online modes came later as free updates or separate purchases after the sales slowed down, but at launch it was always complete.
Now with GTA 6 it's looking like the base game might just be the story. Rockstar hasn't said a word about whether the online component is included with the full price tag or if they're planning to sell it separately down the line. They've been weirdly quiet about it, and that silence is starting to feel deliberate.
I get that GTA Online became its own massive thing and maybe they want to treat it as a separate product now. But the average person walking into GameStop or hitting pre-order on the PS Store probably assumes they're getting the full experience like every other GTA before this. If Rockstar is planning a split, they need to say so before November 19, not after people have already handed over their money.
Is anyone else holding off on pre-ordering until we get a straight answer? Or do you think it's obvious that online is included and I'm overthinking it?

I think it's bundled, but your point about the silence is fair. Rockstar says nothing until they feel like it, and with November 19 closing in, that's a bad habit.
Quick history check though. GTA Online didn't even ship with GTA V. It went live two weeks later in October 2013, free for anyone who owned the game. And right now the pre-order pages list Standard and Ultimate with the Vintage Vice City Pack, and neither one advertises online access as a selling point. To me that reads as included by default, not a separate SKU they'd quietly spring on people after the fact.
Selfish take: the wanted system got real love in GTAO over the years, better cop loadouts, smarter response. That's why I want online day one. But the story mode pursuit AI is what I'm buying for either way.
