incapacitation mechanic has some real depth, momentum matters
Went back through the Extended Look again and the incapacitation stuff is way more dynamic than I first gave it credit for. Normal hit markers can put enemies into a soft incapacitated state, not just headshots or big calibers.
In the traphouse scene, the guy was mid stride when he got shot. The damage animation carried his momentum, so he stumbled forward, tripped, and slammed into a chair. That's not a canned fall, that's physics reacting to where he was and how he was moving. Compare that to the skyscraper part where the enemy is just standing still and takes a shot to the hand or chest. He only gets a minor stun, barely even reacts. So the same kind of hit can produce totally different results based on environment and body part.
I'm curious about the yellow incapacitated state. If you leave one of those guys alone for a bit, will they recover and start shooting from the ground? Like those death shots in GTA IV where a downed enemy could still fire a few rounds before dying. That would make firefights way more tense, you'd have to finish them off or watch your back.
What do you all think, is the downed enemy shooting thing actually in the game or am I reading too much into a stun animation?
