launch week with kids in the house — how are you handling it?
My son is 15 and already asked if he can play it. I told him not a chance. He's got his own console in his room but I'm not buying him a copy. The M rating isn't just a suggestion, it's there for a reason. He'll get his hands on it eventually, I'm not naive, but it won't be under my roof while I'm trying to enjoy my own playthrough.
I took two days off work. My wife thinks I'm ridiculous. She's probably right. I'll be in the basement after the kids go to bed, headphones on, volume low enough that I can still hear if someone yells from upstairs. My gaming time these days is stolen in 90 minute chunks before I pass out. I'm not sharing the living room TV either. That's my launch week territory. The teenager can use the Switch.
I remember picking up Vice City at a midnight launch when he was a baby. Now I'm the old guy pre-ordering the Ultimate Edition and planning my sleep schedule around a video game. Some things don't change.
