car brands posting gta style art is either a collab or the laziest trend yet

I'm seeing BMW, Aston Martin, Hyundai, Suzuki all drop these retro GTA style car shots. Searched the sub and didn't find a thread, so figured I'd start one.

It's weird because the trailers so far have all fictional brands, no real logos anywhere. So why would actual car companies suddenly start posting fan art style stuff? Could be their social teams just hopping on the hype train, GTA 6 is the biggest thing coming and engagement bait is easy. But the timing feels a little coordinated? Multiple brands doing the same style within a short window. If it was one brand, sure, trend. Four or five though? Makes me wonder if there's some licensing deal being teased, or at least Rockstar's marketing arm nudging them.

I know Rockstar historically avoids real car brands in game, they prefer parodies, so an official collab seems unlikely. But brands can still post GTA style art without being in the game. It's free press for both sides. I don't think it means real cars in GTA 6. More likely the social media managers saw the art style blowing up and wanted a piece. Still, if BMW suddenly posts a Vice City themed ad with a date, I'll eat my words. Until then it's just clout chasing.

My take: don't read too much into it, but keep an eye on whether Rockstar's own accounts interact with any of these posts. That would be the tell.
