I don't know about you guys, but the pre launch marketing for GTA 6 has been a real letdown for me. Every few days I see another magazine article pop up somewhere and I just can't bring myself to care. It's not an attention span thing either, I read plenty of long form stuff. It's just not interesting.

Right after trailer 3 dropped the energy was incredible. Everyone was buzzing. But this drip feed of magazine pieces, vague influencer teasers, and studio visits for YouTubers just let that hype bleed away. Instead of building on the peak, they let it fizzle.

Now we're 20 days out and I'm excited, don't get me wrong. But that excitement is purely for the game itself. The marketing campaign hasn't added anything for me in weeks. A smarter rollout would've kept the momentum going, not replaced it with press junkets.

And before anyone jumps on me, the extended look was amazing. I'm not asking for a new trailer every week. The trailers we got, the soundtrack drops, all of that hit the mark. But the magazine features? The studio tours? The cryptic influencer posts? Those didn't land for me at all.

I think they could've approached this way differently. Lean into the things that worked, skip the stuff that felt like filler. At this point I'm just counting down the days and ignoring the rest of the noise.
