we got a new cat species before gta 6

So scientists found a new cat. Not in Leonida, in Bolivia. The tilcayo tiger cat, Leopardus tilcayo if you want the fancy name. Smaller than a housecat, spotted, round ears. First new cat species in over 100 years.

And it got discovered before GTA 6 came out.

The story is wild. A researcher volunteering at a wildlife rehab near La Paz saw this tiny cat and assumed it was a kitten. Some guy had been feeding it rice and eggs before giving it up because he couldn't care for it. Genetic testing came back and boom, brand new species nobody had ever documented. They don't even know how many are left in the wild.

I know this is a gaming forum but this is exactly the kind of "we got X before GTA 6" energy that keeps me going. Zelnick said he's seen those memes. Scientists literally found a whole new cat in the time Rockstar has been working on this game. Development started in 2015, that's 11 years. A cat species that no human had ever classified was just vibing in the Yungas forest this entire time.

The article also mentions the game won't ship on a disc, which I'm still not over. But if you want a disc with GTA 6 printed on it, apparently the soundtrack album has physical versions. That's a whole other thread.

Anyway, the tilcayo tiger cat is adorable and I need it as a pet in GTA 6. Rockstar put cats in the game already, right? If there's no tiny spotted cat wandering around Vice City I'm going to be disappointed.
