FiveM has some of y'all expecting way too much from vanilla GTA 6
Been seeing a lot of chatter lately about how FiveM might be messing with people's heads when it comes to GTA 6. A big chunk of the community has spent the last few years living in those heavily modded RP servers, NoPixel and the like. And I get it, those servers are wild. Custom jobs, deep character progression, whole economies. But that's not what GTA is at its core.
Rockstar builds curated experiences. They've always had a specific vision for their worlds, and while they'll definitely borrow ideas from the RP scene (they'd be dumb not to), expecting GTA 6 to be FiveM 2.0 is setting yourself up for disappointment. The Doomsday Heist update was a perfect example. That went in a completely different direction from what the RP crowd was doing, and it was still a blast.
There's that rumor about Project ROME, Rockstar's supposed integration of FiveM tech. If that's real, it could be interesting. But even then, it'll probably be its own thing, not a straight port of what we see on PC right now. Rockstar doesn't just copy, they adapt.
I'm hyped for whatever they're cooking, but I'm keeping my expectations grounded. GTA 6 is gonna be a Rockstar game first, not a modded server. And that's exactly what I want.
