the anti-hype crowd is exhausting, can we just be excited for once

I get it, Rockstar has done some stuff people don't like. But every time someone posts about being hyped for November, the same crowd shows up to tell us we're bad people for caring.

It's been 13 years since GTA 5. 13 years. And now we're less than 3 months out from a new one. I want to talk about the map, the characters, the little details we might see. Instead half the replies are about how I'm a corporate shill for preordering or watching the extended look on Netflix.

Like, I'm not allowed to be excited? I have to perform some kind of moral purity test before I can enjoy a video game? It's exhausting. The same people who spent years begging for GTA 6 are now acting like caring about it is a crime.

I'm not saying Rockstar is perfect. They've made decisions I don't love. But can we have one thread where someone says "I'm hyped" without getting a lecture about the gaming industry? Just one?

Is it really that wrong to just enjoy the fact that a new GTA is finally almost here?
