fan rebuilt the gta 6 launch trailer inside gta 5 and the difference hits hard

Saw Dexerto picked up a video where someone recreated the GTA 6 launch trailer using GTA 5. They rebuilt the scenes with mods and whatever the old engine can handle, not a perfect shot for shot but close enough to compare.
The gap mostly comes down to lighting and density. GTA 5 still holds up for a 2013 game, but next to the launch trailer it looks almost flat. The Vice City footage has that heavy humid air feel. Mods can fake a lot, but Rockstar's new engine handles crowds, reflections, and on screen detail at a completely different level.
I remember thinking GTA 5 looked photoreal back when the first trailer dropped. Watching the fan recreation now, that old engine is clearly at its ceiling. The new footage just has a weight and atmosphere that GTA 5 can't touch.
Also makes me wonder how much of the launch trailer was actual gameplay versus in engine cinematics. Either way, the recreation is a good reminder that the visual jump is massive.
This kind of stuff just makes the wait until November feel longer.
