afrobank fm said all the way to vice city and i lost it
Finally got around to checking that new Music page on the GTA VI site. Started with Cocoteo FM, then Back Country Radio since I'm into country stuff. Then Afrobank FM came on and I figured it probably wouldn't be my usual station.
The male presenter said something about Lagos, South Africa, and Ghana. I was half listening, thinking I'd skip it when the game drops. Then the female presenter followed up with "all the way to Vice City" and that was it. Tears just started welling up, almost lost it completely.
I'm 33, turning 34 in a couple months. Grew up free roaming the original Vice City because my PC didn't even have a DVD reader for San Andreas for months after it came out. So Vice City was my whole world back then. Hearing that line made me realize how long some of us have been waiting for this city to be on everyone's minds again. Longer than the 13 years between V and VI, honestly.
We're only 40 days out now. Almost there. I'm definitely keeping Afrobank on when I'm cruising around Leonida.
