best buy doing midnight launch for zelda oot remake two weeks before gta 6

Best Buy just announced late night store openings for the Zelda Ocarina of Time remake hitting Switch 2 on November 5. If you preordered already you can switch your order to in store pickup at midnight. That means actually standing in a line outside a Best Buy instead of waiting for a delivery guy, which feels like 1998 all over again.
They'll also have limited stock of the 40th anniversary Zelda Switch 2 and the matching Pro Controller for walk ins. That console sold out basically instantly last month, so anyone who missed it gets another shot, assuming you're willing to camp out.
Nintendo showed gameplay back in September and it's a full visual overhaul. Some people hate the new look, which is wild to me. Link can jump whenever now, which sounds like a joke but it changes how the whole game moves.
This lands exactly two weeks before GTA 6 on November 19. I'm already picturing the chaos of trying to grab a Zelda console at midnight and then two weeks later doing the same for GTA 6, except Rockstar hasn't said anything about midnight events. Most places will probably just unlock digital preloads at midnight and call it a day. I'd love a physical midnight launch for GTA 6 but I'm not holding my breath. The Ultimate Edition is already $99.99 and preorders opened back in June, so most of us are locked in digitally anyway. Still, seeing Best Buy do this for Zelda makes me a little jealous.
If GTA 6 had a midnight event with limited stock of something, it would be a bloodbath. Rockstar knows that. Probably why they won't do it.
