30fps worry is gone after realizing my gta 5 copy was 30fps all along
So I've been stressing about GTA 6 running at 30fps on console for months now. Thought it would feel janky and hard to play after getting used to newer stuff. But then I had a weird realization the other day.
I've played through GTA 5 six times, three of those to 100%. And I've been playing the Xbox One version on my Series X since like 2017. Which means I've been at 30fps this whole time without ever thinking about it. Not once did I sit there going "man this frame rate is killing me."
That kind of hit me. If I can sink hundreds of hours into a 30fps game and not notice, then GTA 6 at 30fps is probably going to be fine. On a big TV especially, 30fps feels way smoother than people make it out to be. You're not sitting two feet from a monitor. You're on a couch.
Obviously if you're on PC and used to 120 or 144, going back to 30 is rough. And if there was a 60fps option I'd take it. But for a console game that's going to be 80+ hours long, 30fps is more than enough to drive around Leonida, do missions, cause chaos, all that. I'm way less worried now.
Anyone else have a similar moment where you realized you were already playing at 30fps and didn't care?
