CoD MW4 beta trailer shows campaign slice, launches a month before GTA 6

Saw the MW4 beta trailer and the timing is interesting. It launches October 23, about a month before GTA 6 hits on November 19. That's a tight window for a big shooter.
The beta itself has a first for the series: a slice of the single-player campaign. The mission is called Entrenched. First beta weekend was April 21-25 for preorders on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. There's also an open beta August 28-31 with no preorder needed, same campaign mission, different multiplayer maps, Ground War mode, and a first look at Warzone's Resurgence Zodiac map.
The multiplayer map they're pushing is Kill Block. It's set at some fictional training facility called West Bridge Advanced Military Training Facility. The battlegrounds reconfigure before every match, so you get hundreds of possible combinations. Sounds like a nightmare to learn but maybe fun for variety.
MW4 is also coming to Switch 2, but the first beta skipped it because preorders on Nintendo's console don't start until August 26. The open beta runs August 28-31 with no preorder requirement. It's the first CoD on a Nintendo platform since Ghosts in 2013, and also the first since Ghosts to skip PS4 and Xbox One. No Game Pass launch this time either, unlike Black Ops 6 and 7.
I'm not a huge CoD person these days, but a campaign slice in a beta is unusual. Usually betas are multiplayer only. Might be worth checking out just to see how they handle a single-player demo. The October 23 launch feels like they're trying to get out ahead of GTA 6, but a month is not much breathing room.
Anyone else planning to use MW4 as a time killer before GTA 6 drops, or are you staying away from shooters until November?

This. October belonged to Vice City in '02. Now it's just a shooter warmup.
