gun safety switches in newer gta 6 screenshots
Was going through the newer screenshots again and something caught my eye. The guns Lucia and Jason are holding in some of the recent shots have the safety engaged. In older pictures from the trailers, the safety was always off. Thought it might just be a modeling inconsistency but it shows up in multiple new shots, so maybe they actually added this detail.
Here's what I'm seeing:
- Motorcycle shot from the first trailer, safety is off
- Car shot, Jason's gun has the safety on
- Bike shot, Lucia's gun has the safety on
- Shot near the plane, Jason's gun has the safety on again
It's a tiny thing but it's the kind of detail that makes me think Rockstar went back and added weapon states. Like maybe the safety flips depending on whether you're in combat or just carrying. Or it could just be a random model variation. Either way, someone on the art team spent time on this and I respect it.
If the safety actually matters for gameplay, like you can't fire until you switch it off, that would be a wild level of realism. Probably not, but I wouldn't put it past them after the horse balls thing in RDR2.
Anyway, cool catch if it's intentional. Rockstar's attention to detail never stops surprising me.
