why we haven't seen anything new? it's not that complicated
I see people refreshing this sub every five minutes wondering where the next trailer is, and honestly, I think the answer is staring us right in the face. Put yourself in a Rockstar dev's shoes for a second. You've been grinding on this thing for seven years. Seven. That's longer than some console generations. The game is basically done, it's the summer before launch, and you finally get to breathe a little.
Why would they drop a trailer right now? The team's probably scattered on vacation, recharging before the final crunch. Marketing isn't some magic button you press. It's people. People who just shipped the biggest project of their lives and are probably being told to go touch grass for a few weeks. I know we're all starving for footage, but maybe we should follow their lead. The game's coming in November. We'll be glued to our screens soon enough.
I'm not saying Rockstar's marketing is perfect, but this quiet period makes sense if you think about it from a human angle. They don't owe us a summer trailer just because we're bored. Let 'em rest. We'll get our flood of info when the weather turns ugly and we're all back inside anyway.
Anyone else think we're just too deep in the hype cycle to see the obvious?

I want to believe the team's just sipping cocktails in the Keys, but marketing silence isn't usually charity. Pre-orders went live weeks ago. If the game was locked and loading, they'd be feeding the machine.
More likely they're sitting on Trailer 3 until fall when it actually moves units. Or worse, they're sanding down rough edges they don't want us zooming in on. I've watched this cycle too many times. Quiet summers turn into November downgrades.
Hope I'm wrong. I usually am, until I'm not.
