Agefield High launched and it's a buggy mess, makes me glad Rockstar takes their time

So there's this game that just dropped on PC, Agefield High. It's supposed to be a spiritual successor to Bully, set in the early 2000s with that American Pie style humor. I know a lot of us have been craving something like that since Rockstar seems to have shelved the Bully franchise for now.

But uh, it's not going well. Steam reviews are tearing it apart. Stiff animations, constant crashing, combat that feels like you're wading through molasses. Even on low settings the lag is brutal. And apparently the writing isn't saving it either. One of the Gamespot guys played it and said the story doesn't make up for the technical mess.

The devs put out a statement in character as the principal saying "Please be gentle with the walls. The paint is still fresh." Which is cute and all, but maybe don't charge $30 for a game that's still drying?

Honestly this just makes me appreciate Rockstar's approach even more. Say what you want about the long wait for GTA 6, but when it drops you know it's going to be polished to a mirror shine. No janky animations, no game-breaking bugs on day one. They'd rather delay than ship something half-baked. After seeing stuff like this, I'm totally fine waiting until November.

What do you think, would you want Rockstar to take another crack at Bully after GTA 6, or should they just keep the focus on the heavy hitters?

Thirty dollars for game that crashes every ten minutes? No thanks. Here in Brazil we pay too much already for games to get broken paint on day one. Rockstar takes forever but at least you know it's gonna run smooth. November is fine by me if Leonida feels like home.

In 2002 we didn't need patches, we got finished games. Thirty bucks for wet paint is a bad joke.

A rushed insertion is a failed insertion. You don't breach without checking gear and comms. Same principle. Rockstar taking time means the payout is worth the setup. Let Agefield be a cautionary tale. November will hit different.
