the french mag preview that compared it to seeing avatar in 2009 is the one that stuck with me

Been thinking about that French magazine preview all week. The one that didn't try to break down every system or list features. It just described what it felt like, and the Avatar comparison hit different.

They said playing it felt like sitting in a theater in 2009 when Avatar first came on. That moment where you knew you were seeing something that would change how everything after it looked. Not because the story was new, but because the tech made the world feel real in a way nothing had before.

That's what I keep coming back to. GTA 6 is still part of a series we've been playing for years, but this could feel like a fresh start anyway. Like the first time you saw a game world and didn't want to leave it.

I booted up GTA 5 again last week and it's weird how little there actually is to do between missions. You just drive from A to B. The map is huge but it's mostly a backdrop. I found myself rushing everywhere because there was no reason to stop.

With 6 I don't think I'll be able to finish a mission without getting distracted. If the world is as dense as these previews keep saying, I'll be wandering off constantly. Checking out some alley, watching NPCs do their thing, just standing on a corner taking it in. Missions might take me twice as long and I'm fine with that.

I keep trying to picture that first boot up. The first loading screen, the first moment control is in my hands. Hard to imagine what it'll actually feel like after all this waiting. The Avatar comparison is the closest I've come to understanding it.

November can't get here fast enough.

The Avatar line tracks. But density is where my skepticism lives. Pretty streets mean nothing if the patrol AI still plays dumb. I want cruisers running actual routes, units that radio each other, a wanted system that escalates with logic instead of teleporting backup behind me. If the world feels real but the cops don't, the illusion breaks fast.
