unpopular take but i want gta 6 at 30fps
Downvote me all you want, I'm not trolling. I genuinely prefer 30 fps in story driven games, and GTA 6 is exactly the kind of game where I'd pick that mode every time.
I'm a big film guy. 30 fps feels more cinematic to me, closer to watching a movie. Games like The Last of Us, I played both of them on the fidelity setting instead of the 60 fps performance mode and never once regretted it. Same with Spider-Man. Before they forced 60 on the sequel, I kept it locked to 30 with all the visual bells and whistles.
So when people complain about GTA 6 maybe being 30 fps on console, I just don't see it as a problem. To me that's a feature that's already active. If they eventually add a 60 fps option, I'll still stick with 30 if it means better lighting, denser crowds, higher resolution, whatever they can squeeze out of the hardware.
I do get why 60 and 120 matter for competitive stuff. Online shooters, sports games, anything where reaction time decides fights. But for a single player open world where I'm just soaking in the atmosphere, the smoother motion actually pulls me out of it a little. It looks too much like a video game, if that makes sense.
I'm open to being wrong here. What is it about 60 fps that makes it non negotiable for some of you?
