I'm worried GTA 6 might be the most disappointing game in the series
I've been thinking about this a lot lately. We all know GTA 6 is going to be Rockstar's biggest project ever, maybe even too big for them to ever top. But that doesn't mean it'll be a flawless masterpiece. I'd bet my last dollar there will be bugs. Rockstar's never shipped a game without them, and with this scope, it's almost guaranteed.
Then there's the hype. The community and insiders have built up this insane list of features. Fully explorable interiors everywhere? Massive destruction? Come on. I'd say 70% of that is pure fantasy. If even half of it were true, the game would probably run at 30fps with cutbacks everywhere just to keep it from melting consoles. Unrealistic expectations are going to crush some people's experience.
And don't get me started on the marketing. Take-Two is clearly pushing the Ultimate Edition hard. The Standard Edition feels like an afterthought. I've got a bad feeling that GTA Online 2 might be a separate purchase for Standard owners, maybe $40, while Ultimate buyers get it free or cheap. That way they still get their $100+ from everyone. It's just speculation, but it fits their strategy.
My biggest worry is that single-player will feel like a demo for the next GTA Online. Rockstar and Take-Two aren't just selling a game, they're building a revenue machine. I wouldn't be surprised if all the really cool content ends up in Online, leaving the story mode feeling a bit hollow. Like it's missing something, nudging you to jump into the online world to get the full experience.
I'm not saying the game will be bad. It'll be massive, detailed, and sell like crazy. But I think a lot of people are expecting way more than any game can deliver. I'm keeping my expectations low. If I'm wrong, the wow factor will be huge. And honestly, I think there's a 50% chance I am wrong. We'll see in November.

the hype cycle's always a trap. on RP servers we see it every drop, people expecting life sim depth and getting another arcade shooter. if the map layout and native mechanics are solid though, RP communities will carry this thing for years. thats where the real replay value lives.
