that 30k calorie sandwich ad in the extended look was actually rdr2 footage, i missed it completely
VGC just pointed out something I totally glossed over. That parody ad for the 30,000 calorie meat sandwich in the Extended Look? The background is straight up Red Dead Redemption 2 footage. I've watched the thing twice and never caught it. The ad flashes by so fast you'd have to pause to even notice the backdrop isn't Vice City.
Rockstar does this kind of thing all the time, reusing assets from their other games as little easter eggs. But using RDR2 as the backdrop for a GTA 6 parody ad is a different level of flex. It's like they're saying "we've got two massive open worlds, we can just drop one into the other for a joke and most people won't even see it."
The sandwich ad itself is already peak GTA satire. 30,000 calories is absurd, and the way they present it as some kind of local delicacy is exactly the kind of over the top marketing you'd expect from a Leonida fast food joint. But the RDR2 backdrop makes it even better. It's a nod to the fact that Rockstar's worlds are so detailed they can just swap them in and out.
I'm sure there are more hidden RDR2 assets in the Extended Look. People are already going frame by frame, so I wouldn't be surprised if someone finds a horse or a cowboy hat tucked into a corner somewhere. The fact that it took a few days for this one to surface says a lot about how dense the footage is. You could watch it ten times and still miss stuff.
If you haven't gone back to look for it, it's worth a rewatch. The sandwich ad is somewhere in the middle, and the background has that dusty RDR2 look. Nice catch by VGC. I love when Rockstar does stuff like this, it rewards the people who actually pay attention.
