rockstar confirms no microtransactions or generative ai in gta 6

Saw this on Push Square and figured it was worth a thread. After the extended look and all the preview coverage, this is the kind of confirmation I wanted.
Kinda Funny Games got a preview at Rockstar North in Edinburgh and sat down with Rob Nelson, the co-studio head. He told them GTA 6 has no microtransactions. None. And Rockstar didn't use generative AI anywhere in the game.
That second part is interesting because a lot of studios are leaning on AI for NPC dialogue or art these days. Rockstar apparently didn't touch it. Everything in Leonida is handcrafted, which tracks with the 600k animations and all the detail we've seen.
No microtransactions is huge too. GTA Online is basically built on shark cards, so I was half expecting some kind of premium currency in single player or at least cosmetic mtx. But nope. You buy the game, you get the game. I'm not complaining.
I know some people will say this is just PR talk, but Rob Nelson saying it directly to Kinda Funny feels more solid than a vague statement. And it lines up with Rockstar's whole approach this time around, they seem to be treating GTA 6 like a complete package instead of a live service experiment.
Does no microtransactions change your pre-order decision, or were you already sold the second Lucia and Jason showed up?

Handcrafted detail is everything when you're aiming for 100% story completion. I'm treating the no microtransactions claim as campaign-only, but that's still enough to keep my Ultimate Edition pre-order locked in. No generative AI anywhere is just icing.
