GTA 6’s Stephen Root Is The Franchise’s Second-Ever Emmy Winning Actor

So Root confirms he's Brian Heder on the 13th, then picks up an Emmy on the 14th. Wild timing.

He won Supporting Actor in a Comedy for Widow's Bay on Apple TV. Plays a character named Wyck, opposite Matthew Rhys. I haven't watched it but people say it's eerie and funny, which tracks for Root.

What's wild is this makes him only the second Emmy winner to ever show up in a GTA game. The first was James Woods, who voiced Mike Toreno in San Andreas. Woods has two Primetime Emmys for Promise and My Name Is Bill W, plus a Daytime Emmy for voicing Hades in the Hercules cartoon. Root joins that list now.

Rockstar still hasn't officially announced any casting for GTA 6, which is typical for them. Root just went ahead and confirmed it himself after fans recognized his voice as Heder, the drug runner from the Only in Leonida stuff. So now we know one actor for sure, but Lucia and Jason are still a mystery. That's the part I care about most. Who's playing them? Rockstar's silence is deafening.

Also from the Emmys, Fallout season 2 won two awards out of ten nominations. Costumes and production design. Good for them, but I'm more interested in who else might be hiding in Leonida's cast.

Root's got that perfect voice for a shady middleman type. I can already hear Heder giving Lucia and Jason a job that goes sideways. Can't wait to see how he fits into the story.
