stephen root just confirmed he's in gta 6, first actor to do it openly

So Stephen Root apparently decided the secret's out. He's the first actor to straight up confirm he's in GTA 6, and he's not being shy about it anymore. The guy tried to keep it under wraps for a while but now he's talking openly about the role ahead of launch.

That's kind of a big deal because Rockstar has been insanely tight lipped about the cast. We knew Lucia and Jason from the trailers, but nobody else has come out and said "yeah I'm in it." Root just did. No word on who he's playing yet, which is driving me nuts. He's got such a distinct voice, I can already imagine him as some sleazy lawyer or a radio DJ or maybe one of those weird side characters Rockstar loves to sprinkle around Leonida.

I keep thinking about his role in Barry and Office Space. He does unhinged really well. If he's a mission giver or a contact for Lucia and Jason, that could be perfect. Or maybe he's just a one off character you meet during a random encounter. Rockstar doesn't usually waste recognizable actors on nothing though.

Either way, this is the first crack in the casting wall. Now I'm wondering who else is sitting on a confirmation and just waiting for the right moment. The marketing cycle is heating up with preorders live and the extended look out, so maybe we'll start hearing more names soon. I'd love to know if any other big names are hiding in there.

Root talking about it openly also makes me think Rockstar gave him the green light. They wouldn't let him spoil anything if they weren't okay with it. So maybe this is the start of a slow drip of cast reveals before November. I'm here for it.
