cops can now send dogs after you, and rockstar really doesn't want you shooting them

So Edge got a hands-on with Rob Nelson playing and the cops sent a K9 after Jason and Lucia when they wiped out on a bike. A German Shepherd grabbed Jason and held him down. The Rockstar people watching apparently told Nelson not to shoot the dog. Which means shooting the dog is very much an option.

That's kind of wild but also not surprising. GTA 5 let you shoot dogs if you wanted to. GTA 6 already has the whole pet or scold thing with dogs. Now you've got police dogs actively hunting you and you can probably blast them if you're cold enough. I'm not gonna do it, but someone will.

This fits with all the other cop upgrades we've heard about. Six stars are back, cops track your criminal profile, CCTV cameras flag you, and if they spot you they remember your clothes. So you might need to change outfits to shake them. Now add a dog that can chase you on foot and pin you down. Running away just got harder.

The South Park thing showed Jason picking up dog poop and smacking someone with it, so dogs are having a moment in GTA 6 coverage. Feels like Rockstar is leaning into dogs as a feature. I wonder if you can befriend a police dog or if it's just shoot or get pinned.
