GTA 6 Makes A Familiar Open-World Gaming Feature Work In Its Own Way

GamesRadar's cover story just dropped a new detail and it's exactly the kind of small friction I wanted from Rockstar. You can call a car to your location in GTA 6, but it's not some magic menu button that spawns a supercar at your feet. It goes through an app called Scooter Bros. You request the drop, a company employee physically drives your vehicle to you, and you pay a small fee for the trouble. The best part? The courier has a compact scooter folded up in your trunk, so after they hand over the keys they just unfold it and ride off. No teleporting NPC, no fade to black.

So if you're mid-robbery and hoping to call in a fast escape, forget it. You won't have time to wait for a courier. You need to plan ahead, park something close, and know your route. That's a real change from older GTA games where a wanted level basically meant stealing the nearest car and flooring it. Now stealing off the street brings its own headaches. The driver might swing at you, the car might have a tracker, and it might be running on fumes.

Fuel is confirmed then, but Rockstar says it's a quick diversion, not a survival meter you babysit. Cars run for a long time before you need to top up. So it sounds like the kind of thing that adds texture without turning every drive into a chore. We'll see how that balance feels in practice.

Between this, the map being nearly as big as GTA 4, GTA 5, and RDR2's playable areas combined, and the huge install size, Rockstar is clearly stacking systems on systems. I'm not expecting GTA 6 to play like a normal open world game. It feels more like a crime sim where the boring stuff matters.
