rockstar wants $400 for a gta 6 collector's box with no game, just a spoon and some oakleys

GamesRadar just posted about a GTA 6 Collector's Box that runs $400 and doesn't even include the game. I had to reread that a couple times.

The box itself apparently comes with a spoon, stickers, and some other stuff. And Rockstar's throwing in a pair of Oakleys too. So you're paying $400 for merch, not a copy of GTA 6.

I get that collector's editions have been creeping up in price, but this one isn't even a game edition. It's just a box of branded items. A spoon. Stickers. Sunglasses. That's a wild ask for $400.

Some people will probably buy it just to have the box on a shelf. I've seen crazier things in this community. But I can't help feeling like Rockstar is testing how far they can push merch pricing before November.

If the actual game's collector's edition ends up being $200 or $300 on top of this, the total for a diehard fan is going to be absurd. And that's before you even think about a PS5 Pro or a new TV for launch week.

I'm not saying don't buy it. If you want a GTA 6 spoon, go for it. But I'll wait for something that at least includes the disc.
