Caught a video from Dark Space last night that goes through all the NPC stuff from the Extended Look. I thought I'd seen everything but nope. The way these characters move and react is just different from anything Rockstar's done before.

He pulls clips from the official footage and lines them up with some of the articles that came out after. The little details are wild. NPCs actually notice things. They don't just stand there like mannequins. I'm not gonna spoil every single thing because the video does a better job, but the general vibe is that Leonida feels alive in a way Los Santos never did.

What got me is how much of this was already hinted at in the previews. The 600k animation count gets thrown around a lot but seeing it in motion is different. You can tell Rockstar spent years on this. The way a random pedestrian shifts their weight or glances at you when you walk by, it's subtle but it adds up.

I know some people are worried it'll be too much like RDR2's slow realism. I get that. But from what I saw, it's not about making everything tedious. It's about making the world feel consistent. If an NPC reacts to you, it's because you did something. That's the kind of thing that makes a city feel real.

Anyway, if you've got 20 minutes and you're still riding the high from the Extended Look, give it a watch. I'm not saying it'll change your mind if you were underwhelmed, but it definitely made me more excited for November.

I'll save this for after the kids crash. Twenty minutes of quiet is a fantasy in my house.
