Rockstar dropped a launch gallery of new screenshots and the Rusty Anchor looks exactly like my kind of shithole

GTA 6: Lots Of New Images Have Been Released

Rockstar put out a big pile of new screenshots this week, and they're calling it a "launch gallery." Which, yeah, under two weeks out from November 19, that's the right word for it.

The shots bounce around a lot. Jason and Lucia show up in a nightclub, at the dive bar The Rusty Anchor, and in a gym where Jason is grinding out bench reps like a guy with nothing else going on. There's also an airboat full of people out hunting gators at night, which is such a Leonida thing to put in a gallery. Then you've got police swarming a superyacht, presumably chasing our two leads, and a close-up of Jason hanging out of a car window with an automatic rifle while helicopters close in.

the bar shot is doing a lot of work for me

Maybe it's just me getting old, but the Rusty Anchor picture is the one I keep going back to. Nightclub shots are always going to look good, that's easy. A dive bar with sticky floors and bad lighting tells you more about how the world is going to feel when you're just existing in it between missions.

Also worth noting, the gator hunting at night. That's the kind of side content I end up losing three hours to and then forgetting what the actual story was about.

the numbers around this thing are wild

GameSpot's piece mentions the game has already moved close to 8 million units and pulled in near a billion dollars, which is a sentence I had to read twice. File size lands around 212GB, so if you haven't cleared the drive yet, this is your reminder. Preloading starts more than a week before launch, so at least you're not sitting there watching a bar crawl on the 19th.

Unlock is midnight local time, which means New Zealand gets in first and the US is near the back of the line. I've seen people joking about flights to Auckland and honestly I don't think all of them are joking.

All the new images are up on Rockstar's site if you want to scroll through the full set instead of squinting at the ones that got pulled out for articles.

Which one of these shots sold you the most, the bar, the gators, or Jason hanging out of a moving car?
