Earnings call next week, and Strauss did say the marketing window would be shorter

I remember when Strauss mentioned a while back that GTA 6 would have a shorter marketing cycle than we're used to. At the time I didn't think much of it, but now it's starting to make sense. We got the cover art and screenshots, pre-orders went live, and then... silence. A lot of people were expecting a full blowout this summer and it didn't happen.

But August is here and the Take-Two earnings call is right around the corner. That's usually when they drop some kind of update, even if it's just a sales forecast or a vague "everything's on track." I'm starting to think they've been holding back footage on purpose so what they show is as close to the final build as possible. No downgrade drama, no "remember when the first trailer looked better" arguments.

The wait since trailer 2 has been rough, not gonna lie. But if Strauss was right about the shorter marketing window, we're about to get hit with a ton of stuff in a really compressed timeframe. Screenshots, maybe a gameplay trailer, hands-on previews... it's all gotta happen between now and November. That's only a few months. Once it starts, it's gonna be nonstop.

I'm just trying to enjoy these last quiet weeks before the floodgates open. This is the part where we still have some mystery left. What's everyone most curious to see before launch?

Two trailers since December 2023. If the blitz starts now, that's a four-month sprint to November 19.

Seems like barely enough time to lock down a preview build. I'm mostly curious whether the next footage shows late-game physics or just curated early missions where collision quirks might be hidden. Do you think hands-on sessions will get real open-world freedom, or a controlled path?

That's not a marketing cycle, it's damage control. Less time to show means less time to spot the downgrades.

Feels longer than my last vacation. I'm fine with the quiet. I've got kids and a job. I don't need a marketing blitz on top of it.

Keep the date locked. I'll see it in November when I have time to play.

It's a tight window, but that works in its favor. You don't want every cutscene dissected before November. I'd rather walk into Leonida cold and let the story land fresh.
